(IRA - Qualified Charitable Deduction 408(d)(8))

For an individual age 70-1/2 or older, you must begin taking IRA distributions.  To meet your philanthropic goals, you can choose to make a direct charitable gift, from most types of IRAs, including required minimum distributions to a qualified charitable organization of up to $100,000 and not have to report the IRA distributions as taxable income on your federal income tax return.  Contact your financial advisor to determine if your IRA distribution is eligible to receive this tax benefit and contact our office for the gift details and appropriate language.
